Unite regional officer Terry Keefe said, “Our members have taken a strong stand on the picket line at DB Glass in Newton Abbot and shown excellent solidarity as they start a 48 hour strike over a paltry pay offer and the imposition of unreasonable new shift patterns.
“The planned strikes will continue until the bosses start negotiating in a constructive fashion. Unite members at sister company Sierra Windows in Paignton are also holding a 48 hour strike today on the same issues.
“Both companies are part of the Specialist Building Products group and the senior executives need to knock heads together in Devon if they don’t want this dispute to escalate further.”
