Unite joined throngs of protesters today (May 1) for the annual May Day march in London, where hundreds called for an end to austerity and better pay, terms and conditions for working people, among other demands.
Among those joining the crowds were Unite EC member James Mitchell (pictured above) and Unite general secretary Len McCluskey, with Unite regional secretary Pete Kavanagh (pictured below).
People from all walks of life came to chant and cheer, while a brass band (pictured below) kept the beat. On May Day this year, Unite has paid a special tribute to TGI Friday’s workers, whose historic ballot for strike action closes today as well as McDonald’s workers, who are striking today for better pay, terms and conditions.
