About Us
Your news. Your issues. Live.
Unique to the UK union movement, UNITElive has been reporting daily from the frontline of Unite’s campaigns and disputes since its inception 2014.
A trade union first, then and now, we aim to go beyond the press releases, beyond the headlines reported in the press, telling the union’s side of the story – the members’ stories – the real story – to our membership, journalists, politicians, influencers and anyone interested in finding out what’s actually happening at work and beyond today.
As the largest union in the UK and Ireland, Unite has more than a million members, and our mission is to tell their inspiring stories – how they’ve bravely stood up to bad bosses; how they’re making a difference in their communities; how they’re speaking truth to power in the fight against injustices.
We are a multi award-winning team of experienced trade union journalists who know Unite well and know which are the key issues our readers want to find the answers to. UNITElive runs news, features, comment pieces, video – we even have a read aloud service.
Our news is clear, concise, accurate and accessible. Yes we are biased. We make no apologies. The bias you get is from the voices of the traditionally silenced – working people, ethnic minorities, people who are different, people who want to make the world a better place, people who want justice – trade union members.
In a media climate where big business all too often controls the narrative, UNITElive is one of the only news outlets where it is ordinary workers – just like you – whose voices take centre stage. And moreover, it’s a place where those voices are heard.
Our team here at UNITELive consists of Amanda Campbell, Hajera Blagg and Keith Hatch.
We’re always on the lookout for stories of interest to Unite members and their communities – if you’ve got an idea, contact us at [email protected].
