Extra, extra – read all about it

uniteEXTRA is a whole new world of Unite news and views waiting for you – by the team that brought you UNITElive

Reading time: 3 min

As much as we know our UNITElive readers love their daily digital updates – which will continue to the same high standard as ever – the editorial team here at Unite thought why not give our readers something more detailed, something that no trade union has produced before?

And so uniteEXTRA was born. A completely new e-mag for anyone interested in all things Unite, each month uniteEXTRA will explore the latest in Unite news, features, special investigations, campaigns, comment, reviews, podcasts, films and so much more – brought to you in a totally new and innovative way, encapsulating the spirit of the UK’s and Ireland’s top union.

All your magazine favourites are in here – our many victories for workplace justice, your campaigns, Unite’s role in the big issues of our time and, of course, stories from your communities. This new digital magazine is also more frequent than anything we’ve produced in recent years – and we aim to issue uniteEXTRA, every four to six weeks or so.

In our first issue we start with general secretary Len McCluskey’s visit to the Covid remembrance wall – where Len meets some remarkable young people, who had lost their fathers, all Unite members, to Covid. Despite their grief they are determined to get recognition for every one of over 150,000 people of this country taken by the disease in this past year.

“The vibrant, dynamic format is very new to us but I hope you’ll agree that it brings our wonderful union to ‘full technicolour’ life,” commented Len McCluskey.

uniteEXTRA issue 1 is a cracker. We hope that you will enjoy it and as you read it, feel proud, as I do, of the incredible work and people of our brilliant union,” he added.
