Unite has been handing out the latest BuildingWorker to construction workers on their way to work in Islington.
Activists were up early at Angel tube station to hand out the Autumn edition and talk to workers about the benefits of joining Unite.
Darren Goldstone is a convenor at a construction site in London, and said; “I’m down here today this morning to get the magazine out to the lads and ladies on site, and get these people on board and let them know that the union is out there to support them.”
Darren was joined by other reps, including Branch activist and electrician Danny Thomas and Equalities Rep Sandra McFarlane.
Terrific trio – Darren, Danny and Sandra are spreading the news
Sandra said she wanted to “make sure that construction workers knew their rights, and that they were respected. I’m handing out the magazine today, and would encourage everyone to have a look, and join the union.”
The latest BuildingWorker is packed full of stories from across the country and has been particularly popular, with some reps reporting that workers have been approaching them to join Unite after seeing the magazine on sites and in works canteens.
If you have not seen this latest edition you can read it online here, or ask your Unite rep about getting a hard copy in the future.
