Rudolph & Hellmann Oxford MINI strikes postponed after new pay offer

Strikes by warehouse workers based at Oxford’s MINI plant have been postponed after their employer, Rudolph & Hellman, tabled a new pay offer.
Unite said strikes scheduled for 26 and 28 April and 4 and 6 May have been postponed to allow the 180 workers to vote on the improved deal.
If the workers reject the pay offer, strikes scheduled for the 10, 12, 17 and 19 May will go ahead.
The workers, made up of warehouse staff and shunter drivers, handle components for the carmaker and any strikes would significantly impact production at the plant.
Unite regional officer Scott Kemp said, “Following talks with Rudolph & Hellman, an improved offer was put forward by the company.
“Strikes have now been postponed and we will be balloting our members on whether the new deal meets their aspirations.”
