Unite secures pay deal for housing association workers in North East and Yorkshire

Strikes at housing association Thirteen Housing Group, which has over 35,000 properties in the North East and Yorkshire, have been averted after Unite the union secured an improved pay deal.
More than 400 workers, members of Unite were due to go on strike over pay but all action was suspended to allow the workers to ballot on a new offer.
The dispute has now ended after the workers voted in favour of the deal.
Unite general secretary Sharon Graham said, “Our Thirteen Housing Group members stood together and won this improvement to their pay.
“Our members’ jobs and pay are this union’s top priority. As this win shows, workers get results when they’re in Unite.”
Unite regional coordinating officer Mark Sanderson added, “The dispute has now ended following the acceptance of an improved offer by our membership.
“We look forward to working constructively with Thirteen Housing Group in the future for the interests of our members.”
The majority of Thirteen’s homes for sale and rent are on Teesside.
