Unite members working for Go North East are poised to enter their third week of all-out continuous strike action. On Friday (November 10) Unite staged a rally, attended by Unite general secretary Sharon Graham, which drew bus workers, community groups and members of the public who are united in support for the striking workers.

The more than 1,300 Unite members are striking for fair pay – all they want is to be paid the same as their colleagues working for Go North West in Manchester are. At the moment, they’re being paid an astonishing £105 per week less than their counterparts in Manchester for doing the exact same job. What’s more, Go North East is blowing £21.1m in lost fare revenue during this strike – just to avoid £450k a year in fair pay.

Below are highlights in photos from Friday’s rally. You can keep up to date on the Go North East strike by visiting the Unite North East, Yorkshire and Humberside region Facebook page here.
