NHS pay protest

Unite members in health attended a protest over NHS pay on Friday (July 30), joining hundreds of other health workers across London.

Members of the Unite Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospital branch marched to Downing Street to send a loud and clear message — that the PRB recommendation was an insult for an exhausted workforce who have battled Covid for the last 18 months and have seen, in many cases, a 19 per cent pay drop in real terms since the Tories took power in 2010.

Unite strongly supported its members attendance at the demo and is now having meetings to decide the next steps in the union’s NHS pay campaign, which will include a consultative ballot on industrial action.
